I was born in Italy and I have lived in London for 30 years.

Before going to college to study Fine Art, I read English Literature at university and subsequently trained as a psychotherapist.

I believe the need to make art is a fundamental aspect of human nature which ultimately needs to develop and understand itself. A committed artist is an explorer who undertakes a voyage of discovery of his/her own inner landscape.

The work is a signpost of such a journey.

Inevitably, my education and background have informed this stage of my work. In the beautiful town where I was raised, Syracuse, the heroes and gods of classical Greece were a part of the inner and outer landscape.When I left, I carried them with me.

Later on, when I was studying Jungian psychology, I realised how an intuitive understanding of the world of collective myths can unlock the creative process of the human psyche.
